Simple... Poison is applied on the corner side of the pages of book.
poison applied along the closing edges of the envelope
the poison was on the seal of the envelope. when he tried to lick the gum on the envelope to seal it, e got poisoned and he died!!!

Maybe he got a really bad paper cut. Or maybe he was a narcoleptic and while he was addressing the envelope he suddenly fell asleep and stabbed himself in the eye with his pen.

Your all wrong, from the evidence its obvious the man was a spy, his mission was over and he was psychologically programed to terminate his brain functions once the letter was finished (a deception to feed the enemy with false information) clear as day.
I think everyone is thinking into this a bit too much. Has it ever occured to you that he could have just starved. But I do think that the poison on the envelope was a good point but the door was locked from the inside there is no way someone could have come in. If the man who died decided to leave the room left then wouldn't he have locked the door?
he died due to over-masturbate... bcoz behind d blank papers are pictures of nude pornstars... as blood rushes to his pe***, blood vessels burst out bcoz of d sudden rush of blood having a pressure of 30psi... dis cause him excruciating pain dat resulted his death...
It was Sucide - slow poisen - meaning he drank or ate the poisen, locked the door from the inside - wrote a letter, sealed it and passed away.
A person would have been found regardless if the door was locked or unlocked - he was killed in the office by someone who left ,shut the door because of the latch, it locked from the inside. and made it look like suicide with the sealed letter.
