Lateral Thinking

A girl who was just learning to drive went down a one-way
street in the wrong direction, but didn't break the law.
How come?

Maybe she was reversing the vehicle to parallel park which is permitted in most jurisdictions.

Where's my pellet gun? There's a crazy sqirrel wandering around.

She was walking.

There's a 'u' in "Squïrrel". You have no proof that she was walking. I'm surprised that your overly-pedantic attitude from posts above didn't cause you to complain that she could have been availing herself of any number of modes of transport; eg. cycling, skateboarding, rollerblading, skiting, land yachting, parasailing, hang-gliding, etc, etc.

And Squïrrel, don't forget that the street might actually be a Möbius strip in a zero gravity alien spaceship and she was just walking in the wrong direction under the top street...

LOL!

Except that Council by-law 3471.62f(i) states that "vehicles capable of generating zero-G fields are not permitted in one-way streets", and 3471.62f(ii) states that "one-way streets are not permitted in vehicles capable of generating zero-G fields. Penalty: $40"

Ok, you hold Evan down so I can give him another kicking.

She could have been parking the car into the space between the two cars. She had to drive backwards so that she could park her car between the two cars.
