Atleast 60 hats he bought...

1/4 of which were brown = 15brown hats

He sold 2/3 of the hats including 4/5 of the brown hats = 40 sold = 12 brown sold - 28 others sold

unsold=20

unsold other color hats = 17/20

unsold hats were brown = 3/20

X=number of hats
1/4x=brown hats
1/5*1/4x=Brown hats unsold
1/3=total number of hats unsold

Hence ratio
1/20x ÷ 1/3x=3/20
