A boy at the Carnival

A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to
the boy, "If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper
then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50."

The boy looked around and saw no scale so he agrees, thinking no
matter what the carny writes he'll just say he weighs more or less.
In the end the boy ended up paying the man $50.

How did the man win the bet?

the man wrote 0
then the boy said no
the man asks then what is your exact weight?
the boy replies with his exact weight
the man then writes *his exact weight*.00000000

your exact weight

"your exact weight" (or "your exact weight on this piece of paper" which he could write on a table or the boy's face) is prob the correct answer.

However the Q is technically misleading.
"If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper
then ..."
should properly be written as:
"If I write 'your exact weight' on this piece of paper
then ..."
but then that would give the answer away.

Also, they could be in a weightless environment (outer space, salty water, etc) so the man could correctly answer "Zero".

My thoughts exactly, Secret Squirrel. The question should have been written as you indicated.

The carny didn't win the bet? He only had a hundred dollar bill on him?

......or what everyone wrote above, heh.

The boy owed the man $100 in the first place ;)

He wrote 'Your exact weight' on the paper ,haha.

he just estimated by looking at the kid and wrote all the numbers within a wide range of his estimate

Silly boy. Why would you still pay him $50 if he wrote "your exact weight".

He wrote a number to the paper, and said 'this is your exact weight'.
Boy: 'No.'
Man: 'Prove it!'
Boy: 'I have no scale!'
Man: 'No problem, I have one. You can get it for $100!'

The boy paid him the $50.

He probably got the boy to write it down on a piece of paper first.
